Ownership and Inclusion

This page contains the growing, emerging, recession resistant, and/or culturally relevant industries Urban Legacy is working to increase black participation in. One of our first principles is for black people to have an ownership stake in the economy. Urban Legacy and our partners are striving to improve black presences in leadership and ownership positions, along with black business throughout the value chains of various industry sectors.

Culinary Arts

From the time we opened our doors, Urban Legacy has been inundated with requests to start a culinary arts programs, which we are elated to do! We are going to have a number of programs in culinary arts that help promote black owned caterers, restaurants and confectionaries. If you would like to participate in these programs, please let us know!

Justice Involvement & Reinternment

Many programs will focus on those who areĀ  justice involved, who often come from communities devoid of opportunities. Reducing economic dependence on crimes of poverty will prevent black people from being victimized by the slave labor market of mass incarceration. If you or someone you know is justice system involved, please reach out to us.
